Citizens who fill out a House Check Form (PDF) can have their residence checked by a police department employee if they are out of town for at least three days. During their absence, a police department employee inspects the citizen’s residence for obvious signs of burglary, mischief or other crimes, as well as any suspicious or subtle signs of criminal activity. A log of the inspections is maintained by the police department and provided to the resident upon cancellation of the watch.
